Samantha Smith (NYC)
Sam has spent more than 25 years building, scaling, and advising emerging and contemporary fashion brands. Known for her sharp eye for talent, strategic thinking, and founder-first approach, she has helped shape the growth of some of the industry's most respected brands while cultivating a global network of retail and industry relationships.
Born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Sam moved to New York City in 1999 and has been immersed in the fashion industry ever since. She is a member of THE BOARD, an advisor with RAISEfashion, and is passionate about mentorship, brand building, and helping founders create businesses that last.
Outside of work, Sam is a Mom to a teen, an avid traveler, and a lover of great food, nature, and horseback riding. A lifelong student of style and storytelling, she remains endlessly curious about what makes brands, and the people behind them, endure.. Current obsession: “Discovering emerging brands and convincing myself I need another vintage jacket.”

Michelle Maslanka (NYC)
Michelle moved to New York City in 2012 to attend LIM College and began her career through internships at Alexander McQueen and Céline before holding roles at Nili Lotan and Veronica Beard.
Since joining Franklin in 2020, she has become a trusted partner to both brands and retailers, known for her thoughtful approach, strong product instincts, and keen eye for storytelling. As both a founder and industry professional, Michelle brings a unique perspective to supporting emerging brands and helping them navigate growth.
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys photography, spending time with her husband, family, and friends, and heading to the beach with her beloved pup, Navy. Current obsession: “Trunk Shows with Sister NY and never leaving the ocean”
Jenn Dang (LA)
A Southern California native, Jenn began her career in sales at Scotch & Soda before helping introduce several Australian designers to the US market, including Alice McCall. With a sharp eye for talent, product, and market opportunity, she has built a reputation for identifying emerging brands and helping them successfully navigate growth.
Known for her strategic perspective, deep industry knowledge, and collaborative leadership style, Jenn is a trusted advisor to both brands and colleagues. She brings a thoughtful, relationship-driven approach to every partnership and is passionate about helping founders build businesses with longevity and purpose.
Outside of work, Jenn enjoys traveling globally, music, art, cooking, spending time in nature, and exploring California wines. Current obsession: “Anything French”

Shannon O’Neil (NY)
Originally from upstate New York, Shannon began her career in Los Angeles working in jewelry design and accessories sales with brands including Chan Luu, Gorjana, and House of Harlow. Over the years, she built and operated her own successful sales agency, developing deep expertise in regional markets, retail relationships, and emerging brand growth.
Known for her entrepreneurial spirit, commercial instincts, and relationship-driven approach, Shannon has helped numerous brands expand their reach and navigate critical stages of growth. She brings a practical, hands-on perspective to every partnership and is passionate about helping founders build businesses with long-term potential.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys yoga, spending time in nature, attending live music events, and being with friends and family. Current obsession: “Live music and summer travel”

Ellie Newton (NYC)
Originally from Northern California, Ellie earned a degree in Business and Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her background spans hospitality, marketing, event planning, and creative design, giving her a unique blend of analytical thinking and creative problem-solving.
Since joining Franklin in 2023, Ellie has become an integral part of the team, supporting brands through data analysis, marketing, operations, and client services.. Known for her curiosity, attention to detail, and collaborative approach, she brings fresh perspective and energy to every project.
Outside of work, Ellie is a talented musician who enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring all that New York City has to offer. Current obsession: “Photography and lake houses”
